The best 18 months

Here I am finally writing an email because I actually cannot leave it off for next week this time. But this might be the hardest email to write because how can I sum up my gratitude for these last 18 months!!! I love Portugal SO MUCH! Following the patrern of my dad, I made an ABC list of things about Portugal and my mission that I don't want to forgot!

L- the Loft, lasanha, levadas

N- nazaré
O- octopus 
P- pão de Deus/ praça commercial, palácios, pasteis de nata 
Q- queijo
R- Rua
S- Sintra, stroganoff 
T- teatro de pàscoa, tuga
U- ubers
V- vistas, vasco de gama, volleyball
W- whatsApp
X- xícaras of hot chocolate
Y- youth album music
Z- zone pdays

Some of them are a little rough and it might not make sense to anyone other than me. I am grateful for every comp, every area, every member and every friend that helped me create these happy memories. I have learned more than I ever thought I could. 

Of all that I have learned, the most important truth is that God loves His children so so much!! We are surrounded with signs of His love. With eyes of faith, we can see His hand and enter into His rest. I know He loves us so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ to prepare the path! I know that this church is His restored church. I know the Book of Mormon is a true testament that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that it changes lives.

  PORTO PORTUGAL TEMPLOOOOOOO LETS GOOOOO Conference was amazing. I didn't catch everything because my Portuguese is still mid but the spirit I felt from the speakers and the music is, as one of our new friends said, "indescribable"  Go watch it. Any talk. It's worth it.  My favorite lesson was the ideal vs the real.  Combined with all the references to the atonement of Christ, I was reminded that God is soo proud of my efforts. He knows how imperfect I am! He's known it for a while now. But that does stop Him from loving me. And to prove it, He sacrificed the thing most precious to Him. His beloved Son. His Only Begotten.  He watched Him suffer every pain, every infirmity just so that I could have a chance.  So that we all have a chance.  If you are feeling like your real is a little or lot unlike the ideal, don't give up this week. Establish Connection

For anyone reading this who was a Highland Park Hornet, I feel obliged to tell you that we have been decieved in our childhood. Hornets are not the kind, happy or helpful animals that we made to believe they were. Our kitchen has been taken over by a MONSTER of a hornet that refuses to die by any means. Shoes, brooms, spray, or prayers have no effect on this massive creature.  So we will be eating out for the next week or so. Who needs a kitchen anyway.  Other than that exciting news, this week has been an interesting one. We had an amazing day on Tuesday and then Wednesday everything fell apart. That might be a little dramatic. We just got a lot of sad news at once. The rest of our week was recovering from that day, trying to find motivation and energy to keep giving our best.  Something I learned this week was how to better my prayers. Walking in the Ways of my Father

  This week is my dads birthdays. Ive learned a lot from my dad. My dad is an amazing teacher. He takes every opportunity to learn and when he learns something, he loves to share it. I am one of the many benefactors of my dads greats lessons. Today I wanted to share some that have meant a lot to me on my mission:)  The law of the harvest,  or as my dad says: "If you plant tomatoes you are going to get tomatoes" You get out what you put in. On my mission, I have seen how true this is. When I plant the good seeds of obedience, diligence and patience, I see the fruits of those seeds.  "Expand your horizons"  I heard a lot of this one when I was in my picky eating phase. But really this principle of action has been very present with me on the mission. We don't settle. We try new things. When I am feeling comfortable with the missionary life, I know that its time to expand because we don't grow if we stay we are. We need new horizons. And that leads to the next o...
