“Doubt Not but be Believing”

-Mormon 9:27

This week we were teaching a lesson about the Book of Mormon and I told our friend that this book has changed my life. I say that a lot. He looked at me and said "How?" And just to be clear, he switched to English to ask "How was your life different before this book?"

His question surprised me but not as much as my response. I told him that the Book of Mormon taught me to have hope, to keep going. Because of it's teachings, I know that God is just but He is also kind and full of mercy. I know that He sent His son so that we don't have to suffer alone. Overall, the Book of Mormon changed my life because it brought me to Christ. Through Christ, I found unprecedented joy and strength.

Another story...
We were teaching a family about the Plan of Salvation. Throughout the lesson, they had so many good questions and thoughts but at one point the wife looked at my companion and was like "just keep talking, we want more words." At the end of the lesson, she picked up the Book of Mormon, and gave it a little kiss. Super precious.

I guess what I have learned this week is the beauty of these truths that I have often taken for granted. Like I said last week, I have been thinking about miracles. I have decided that the word "miracle" needs to be redefined. Is it not a miracle that I am sitting here breathing right now? That the sun rises in the morning and it falls in the evening? Moroni says it better,

"Behold are not the things that God hath wrought marvelous in our eyes? Yea, and who can comprehend the marvelous works of God? Who shall say that is was not a miracle that by his word the heaven and earth should be; and by thr power of his word man was created of the dust of the earth; and by the power of his word have miracles been wrought" (Mormon 9:16-17

We are surrounded by the hand of God. We call it science, logic or coincidence but it is all just a sign of God's miraculous power and love for His children. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to witness every day "miracles upon the children of men" I pray that I will have the eyes to see what God has done and the humility to not take it for granted:)))

Some of this weeks adventures:
- went to Cristo Rei with the district last Monday!
- we had zone conference and I probably only understood about 30% of what was said but it was really good
- played a musical number in church
- burned my cookies(and then cried over my burnt cookies lol)
- wrapped BOMs to give as gifts!
- Sat through a 2 hour conversation without understanding a word of the Continental Portuguese accent

I hope you all are doing well:) If you arent, send me an email!!!! I love you all so much!!
