Faith of a Parent Saving Leftover Oatmeal

This week was incredible. We saw so many miracles! I am a little lazy so instead of typing them out, I am going to share a few voice recordings! You can choose your own adventure:))) 



Other midlights: 
- We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner of cereal and apples🌟☀️
- we set up Christmas in our home! 
- All but two of our lessons with progressing friends fell through:( 
- we did some studies in a really pretty park! 


I am extremely grateful for all the miracles God blessed us with this week but it also has me a little confused haha Why doesn't God perform miracles in every circumstance? I don't feel like we worked much harder or had more faith this week. Maybe we did and I cant see it? That is what I am going to be pondering this week. Let me know if you have any thoughts. 

What I do know is that this is the Lord’s work and He is watching over the people of Portugal! In one of my studies, I was reading in the Book of Mormon and just felt overwhelmed with God's love. He cares so much about each one of us!! If you haven't, listen to "His Eye is On the Sparrow." It is a beautiful reminder that God is with you:)) I hope you all have a happy week!

I Want to be a Butterfly

  On the byu speech grind and I found this cute story from a talk by Wendy Watson(Nelson) "A children’s story tells of a caterpillar named Yellow who is trying to find out what she should be doing with her life. In her wanderings she discovers another caterpillar seemingly caught in some gauzy, hairy filament. Concerned, she asks if she can help. He explains that this is all part of the process of becoming a butterfly. When she hears the word butterfly, her whole insides leap. “But what is a butterfly?” she asks. The cocooned caterpillar explains: “It’s what you are meant to become.” Yellow is intrigued but a bit defiant. “How can I believe there’s a butterfly inside you or me when all I see is a fuzzy worm?” On further reflection she pensively asks, “How does one become a butterfly?” And the answer? “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” The caterpillar life is appealing at times. The Peace which Passeth all Understanding

If you follow European news, you might have heard already that Portugal was part of a massive blackout this past Monday. So that is my excuse for not sending an email 2 weeks in a row.  Though the blackout ended up being harmless, it was scary as a missionary. We were told that Portugal had been cyberattacked. We were given instructions to go to the chapel immediately and make sure that we had a supply of food and water. The markets were crowded with people stocking up on water jugs, bread and toilet paper(pois) Our phones lost service so after recieving the emergency text, we had no idea what was going on. From the talk of people on the street and the members who stopped by the church, this was the start of war.  Obviously that was a little dramatic. But with all the panic and the lack of information, it felt real. Even so, we weren't that scared.
