I Love Christmas








 Hello 


I have one train ride for an email today so bear with me theough this mess of thoughts 

We had an amazing pday today. We did some shopping in the Christmas markets and then the Elders barbequed for us. Soooo good. Transfers are this week so its probably our districts last rime together:/ 

We went street contacting with a return missionary in our ward, Filipa. She is a macina. Literally talks to everyone. She reminded me that sharing the gispel doesnt have to be complicates. Even with my broken Portuguese, I can invite someone to church or ask them who Christ is in yheir lives. It kind of hit me that God cant bless me with the gift of toungues if I am not opening my mouth...

We had so many christmas parties this week. Our ward party was 5 hours haha but it was awesome. Out friends loved it. They kept telling us how much joy they felt. 
I played violin for the Lisbon stake concert. It aad wild. They had ballerinas, scripts and a full blown vamera crew. If you warch the video on my photos, youll see the camera guy coming right up to my face. Extremely uncomfortable🫠🫠🫠 but it was siper fun. I love music!!! 

Sister harris and i also did a musical bumber for our womens xonference this week. Sis H made a cute lil video to go along with it. 

There were a lot of hard times this week. I have discovered a lot of my weaknesses for sure. But recongnizing the problem is the first step to fixing it eifht? And with Christ, I can do all things. My weaknesses can be made strong:) 

Here are some scriptures that I have had on my mind this week. 

Romans 8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Ether 12:27
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

2 corinthians 12:9-10 
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong


Well oops we missed our stop so i am going to start paying aytention now.

I Want to be a Butterfly

  On the byu speech grind and I found this cute story from a talk by Wendy Watson(Nelson) "A children’s story tells of a caterpillar named Yellow who is trying to find out what she should be doing with her life. In her wanderings she discovers another caterpillar seemingly caught in some gauzy, hairy filament. Concerned, she asks if she can help. He explains that this is all part of the process of becoming a butterfly. When she hears the word butterfly, her whole insides leap. “But what is a butterfly?” she asks. The cocooned caterpillar explains: “It’s what you are meant to become.” Yellow is intrigued but a bit defiant. “How can I believe there’s a butterfly inside you or me when all I see is a fuzzy worm?” On further reflection she pensively asks, “How does one become a butterfly?” And the answer? “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” The caterpillar life is appealing at times. The Peace which Passeth all Understanding

If you follow European news, you might have heard already that Portugal was part of a massive blackout this past Monday. So that is my excuse for not sending an email 2 weeks in a row.  Though the blackout ended up being harmless, it was scary as a missionary. We were told that Portugal had been cyberattacked. We were given instructions to go to the chapel immediately and make sure that we had a supply of food and water. The markets were crowded with people stocking up on water jugs, bread and toilet paper(pois) Our phones lost service so after recieving the emergency text, we had no idea what was going on. From the talk of people on the street and the members who stopped by the church, this was the start of war.  Obviously that was a little dramatic. But with all the panic and the lack of information, it felt real. Even so, we weren't that scared.
