"He cometh unto his own"

🫠Portuguese fail of the week🫠 I tried to ask the word for "burnt" in Portuguese by saying "o que é a palavra para uma bolacha que fica no inferno por muito tempo?"  Direct translation: "What's the word for a cookie that stays in hell for a long time?"😶😶 I know God answers prayers because I have been praying for help with the language and He sent me Sister Lopes!!! She my incredible new companion and she is from Brazil! I have never met anyone more in tune with the spirit. She is so concious of her purpose her on the mission. The miracles we have seen this week are absolutely crazy!  Since I went from speaking Portuguese like half the time to speaking Portuguese aLL the time, I have been absolutely exhausted this week. But I think tired is my new favorite mission feeling. When I am so tired that its hard to speak, I can finally believe that I've given God all I could that day.  One of my favorite summaries of the life Christ is in Mosiah 3:4-1...

Hello  I have one train ride for an email today so bear with me theough this mess of thoughts  We had an amazing pday today. We did some shopping in the Christmas markets and then the Elders barbequed for us. Soooo good. Transfers are this week so its probably our districts last rime together:/  We went street contacting with a return missionary in our ward, Filipa. She is a macina. Literally talks to everyone. She reminded me that sharing the gispel doesnt have to be complicates. Even with my broken Portuguese, I can invite someone to church or ask them who Christ is in yheir lives. It kind of hit me that God cant bless me with the gift of toungues if I am not opening my mouth... We had so many christmas parties this week. Our ward party was 5 hours haha but it was awesome. Out friends loved it. They kept telling us how much joy they felt.  I played violin for the Lisbon stake concert. It aad wild. They had ballerinas, scripts and a full blown vamera crew. If...

“Doubt Not but be Believing”

-Mormon  9:27   This week we were teaching a lesson about the Book of Mormon and I told our friend that this book has changed my life. I say that a lot. He looked at me and said "How?" And just to be clear, he switched to English to ask "How was your life different before this book?"  His question surprised me but not as much as my response. I told him that the Book of Mormon taught me to have hope, to keep going. Because of it's teachings, I know that God is just but He is also kind and full of mercy. I know that He sent His son so that we don't have to suffer alone. Overall, the Book of Mormon changed my life because it brought me to Christ. Through Christ, I found unprecedented joy and strength.  Another story... We were teaching a family about the Plan of Salvation. Throughout the lesson, they had so many good questions and thoughts but at one point the wife looked at my companion and was like "just keep talking, we want more words." At the end...

This week was incredible. We saw so many miracles! I am a little lazy so instead of typing them out, I am going to share a few voice recordings! You can choose your own adventure:)))  Other midlights:  - We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner of cereal and apples🌟☀️ - we set up Christmas in our home!  - All but two of our lessons with progressing friends fell through:(  - we did some studies in a really pretty park!  I am extremely grateful for all the miracles God blessed us with this week but it also has me a little confused haha Why doesn't God perform miracles in every circumstance? I don't feel like we worked much harder or had more faith this week. Maybe we did and I cant see it? That is what I am going to be pondering this week. Let me know if you have any thoughts.  What I do know is that this is the Lord’s work and He is watching over the people of Portugal! In one of my studies, I was reading in the Book of Mormon and just felt overwhelmed with Go...
